Tell us a little bit about yourself, how long have you been foiling and where are you
from?  Heya, I’m Alex, a Frenchy from the west coast of France and I’ve been living in Sydney,
Manly for the last 9 years. I absolutely love it here — we’re spoiled with epic conditions and so many ways to enjoy the ocean. I’ve always been into water sports and spend as much
time as I can playing in the water.
What sparked your interest in Foiling?
I came from windsurfing, kiting, SUP, and surfing, and about 4 years ago I got into foiling — and that was it. It’s seriously addictive. You can pretty much go out every day no matter the conditions — waves, flat water, wind or glassy — which is what makes foiling so unique and fun. What was the learning curve like and if you could give one PRO tip what would it be?
It was definitely challenging at the beginning, but, super rewarding. My biggest tip would be to be patient and keep it fun. Don’t rush it — start slow, use forgiving gear, and focus on maximising your time up on foil. If you’re enjoying the process and putting the time in,
progression comes naturally and a lot faster than you expect.
What is your go to KT setup and why?
That’s a tough one because I use a few different setups depending on what I’m doing. I love the 790 Atlas for SUP downwind, the 830 Nomad is my go-to for small tow waves or
wakefoiling, and the 1130 Atlas works perfectly for flat-water paddle-ups training. The range really covers every side of the sport, which is what makes it so good — there’s a setup for
every condition and every session.
Tell us about which type of foiling you’re most into, what’s a standard session out
foiling for you? SUP downwind is what I’m most into. I love the feeling of paddling into bumps and tapping into the swell energy — it’s such a unique sensation. I also spend a lot of time doing flat- water paddle-ups to stay fit and ready for the next run.
What is your next foiling adventure?
I’ve got a few trips in mind — Perth in Western Australia, the Mediterranean in France, or
Hood River — all focused-on SUP downwind. Exploring new runs, chasing bumps, and
meeting local crews along the way.
If you could summarize KT in one sentence, what would it say?
KT is more than a brand — it’s a mindset, a feeling, and a culture that’s all about getting out there and enjoying the ride.
