Production Update
The team is working harder than ever preparing for the New Zealand pilot delivery for November 2019. This pilot delivery is a huge milestone for Manta5, marking the end of an 8 year journey to create a product that replicates the cycling experience on water. And for you, this pilot means we’re one step closer to delivering a quality, market tested bike to you early next year.
The Hydrofoiler™ XE-1 is comprised of over 60 parts. At the Manta5 HQ both custom production parts are coming off tooling, and off-the-shelf components are arriving every week. The pilot production is pivotal as it will guarantee that come time for international production, any issues that inherently come up during the first release of a product will be solved for, giving you peace of mind that you’re going to have a great ride experience.
Production Upgrade
As you know, the Hydrofoil Bike floats due to the buoyancy modules covering the frame of the bike (large white modules in front and rear section underneath the seat). These buoyancy shells are vacuum formed plastic with an injection molded foam filler. The team recently made a few changes and have significantly improved this component. The new buoyancy modules will have the same dynamic look but with the added benefit of being much harder wearing for increased longevity.
Company Update
The marketing team recently landed back after attending the GoPro Creator Summit in Broome, Australia. Manta5 was invited to join 30 of GoPro’s top content creators to showcase the Hydrofoil Bikes in a really stunning location. The team got some brilliant content and furthered the relationship between GoPro and Manta5.
Looking ahead, a 3 week US Press Tour is being prepped for October which will span California to Florida. During this tour, we’re lining up product reviewers, large publications and notable faces to ride the Hydrofoiler in some of the best locations the U.S. has to offer. The tour will wrap up at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in Florida where Manta5 has a stand locked in and a bike on display.
As we push forward with the pilot delivery, we will release further updates.
